Museum and library

The museum and library was formally created during 2010 to bring together a wide range of items that had been loaned or presented to the group over many years.

Six new wall mounted display cabinets were made by WBro Vic Charlesworth and the late WBro Ted Pargeter for the display of many of the smaller and lighter items such as regalia, jewels and aprons and these were first documented and then subsequently displayed on the first floor of the Masonic Hall. A full listing of all the items displayed is available adjacent to the cabinets.

There is now virtually a full collection of jewels from every Warrington lodge on display, together with interesting exhibits of charity jewels, hall stone jewels, collar jewels and a few examples of side degree aprons and associated jewels.

Two floor standing display cabinets were kindly loaned to us by Warrington Museum and these are being refurbished at the moment and will be filled with some of the bulkier items that are suitable for display.

There are also many volumes of Masonic books and literature stored in other display cabinets which will be documented in due course.

Anyone with comments or suggestions to make about the museum or with Masonic items that they wish to donate should contact me or email me at museum@warringtonfreemasons.org.uk
